RESPONSIBLE SOURCING

At Aynur Abbott Fine Jewelry, we aim to be as open and transparent as possible when it comes to our procurement and sourcing practices for our affordable luxury real gold jewelry products.

We are committed to ensure that our gold, diamonds, and colored gem stones are responsibly sourced because all materials generate different environmental and social impacts. Therefore we look for institutions the deal in gold, diamonds, colored gem stones that use different unified standards, certifications and membership requirements in order to make sure any key material issues are properly considered and addressed.

Our materials are sourced in-line with the requirements of the Aynur Abbott Fine Jewelry Code of Conduct for Partners, covering a wide range of environmental and social criteria.

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING for ETHICAL GOLD

We are committed to demonstrating industry leadership in the responsible sourcing of gold for all collections. As evidence of this, we source ethical gold from the Borsa Istanbul Precious Metal Lending Market (PMM).

PMM: https://www.bullionstar.com/gold-university/turkish-gold-market#en-49-8 PMM Standard and Non-Standard gold traded
The PMM accepts both Standard and Non-Standard gold.

Standard gold is unprocessed gold bullion, in the form of bars of minimum 995/1000 fineness.
A range of bar weights are accepted as tradable on the PMM:
Mini Bar: 1 gram, 2,5 gram, 5 gram. 10 gram, 20 gram,
50 gram,100 gram, 250 gram, 500 gram, Bullion: 1 kilogram, Large Bar: Bullion over 1 kilogram ‘Bullion’ bars and other bars require a refinery stamp, serial number, weight and fineness.

These criteria apply to both internationally accredited and domestic refineries.

Non-standard gold is unprocessed gold in the form of gold bullion, gold bars, dore bars, granules, powder or scrap below 995/1000 fineness.

Domestic non-standard gold requires an assay certificate (of fineness) from the Turkish Mint or assaying institutions approved by the Turkish Mint.
Imported non-standard gold requires a similar assay certificate from an international refinery, as well as a Turkish customs declaration.

The PMM draws on the accreditation lists of a number of international gold associations and

other gold exchanges in determining eligibility of bar brands on its international refiner list.

This list includes consideration of gold refineries accredited by the London Bullion Market [7]

Association , the Dubai Multi Commodity Centre, and the Indian Bullion Market Association. Qualifying domestic refineries are also then added to the PMM’s accredited refinery list.

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING for DIAMONDS & COLORED GEMSTONES

Aynur Abbott Fine Jewelry supports and follows the principles for transparency stipulated by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. We have put in place a self-regulation initiative for all diamond suppliers, requiring them to refrain from buying or selling conflict diamonds, diamonds from suspect or unknown sources as well as diamonds from countries and regions that have not implemented the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. Stones not conforming to this scheme are automatically refused and returned to the supplier.

To our knowledge there is not yet a Global Kimberly Process Certification Scheme or similar for colored gem stones, so we ask our suppliers to show proof of purchase and request that they buy colored gemstones for reputable and regulated institutions and suppliers.
